750 words a day: simply writing

750 words is a place to go every day and write 750 words. That's it.

It sounds easy, and perhaps pointless, but I've found it to be a useful way to write, and a great place for me to keep that writing. I've been using it a lot lately. Almost every day, in fact.

On the homepage it says "The idea is that if you can get in the habit of writing three pages a day, that it will help clear your mind and get the ideas flowing for the rest of the day."

Two Olympic trips

The Olympics came and went. In fact, they came and I went. Twice. Once to Wembley Stadium for some football, and once to the Olympic Park for some diving. They were good times, as these pictures will attest.

We made it, Wembley, August 2012

Mad Hatter's Tea at The Sanderson

A sampling of the dessert-y things at the tea party (Photo: CN traveller)
If you've never had afternoon tea, here's what you need to know: it's a small and expensive meal that English people serve to foreigners.

NB: Some people here refer to their dinner as 'tea'. That can be confusing, and is not relevant to this post. The tea I'm referring to is the elegant ceremonial meal served in the late afternoon.
